Rosary of the Living Parables (Gospel of Thomas Rosary)

Terminal Prayer:

Come, Holy Wisdom, fill my heart with your holy gift, the gift of fullness. Fill my mind with your wise counsel, the gift of discernment. Fill my ears that I may hear your words in the world and in the lives of others. Fill my soul with the gift of light, that it may shine with Gnosis eternal. Amen

Gnostic Vow

A Gnostic`s Prayer

Hail Sophia x3

Gloria

First Mystery of the Parables
The Mustard Seed

The disciples said to the teacher, “Tell us what the kingdom of the aeons is like.”  He said to them, “It is like a mustard seed, the tiniest of all seeds.  But when it falls on prepared soil, it grows into a large plant and shelters the birds of the sky.”

Second Mystery of the Parables
The Jar of Flour

The teacher said, “The kingdom of the Aeons is like a woman who was carrying a jar full of flour.  While she was walking on a road far from home, the handle of the jar broke and the flour spilled behind her on the road.  She did not know it:  she had not noticed the problem.  When she reached her house, she put the jar down and discovered that it was empty.”  (Logion 95)

Third Mystery of the Parable
The Shepherd

The teacher said, “The kingdom is like a shepherd who had a hundred sheep.  One of them, the biggest, wandered away.  The shepherd left the ninety-nine and searched for that one until it was found.  After going to such trouble, the shepherd said to the sheep, “I love you more than the ninety-nine.” (Logion 105)

Fourth Mystery of the Parables
The Kingdom

The teacher said:  If your leaders say to you, “Behold, the kingdom is in the sky,” then the birds in the sky will get there before you.  If they say to you, “It is in the sea,” then the fish will get there before you.  Rather, the kingdom is inside you and outside you.  When you know yourselves, then you will be known, and will understand that you are children of the Aeons of the Pleroma.  But if you do not know yourselves, then you live in poverty, and embody poverty.  (Logion 3)

Fifth Mystery of the Parables
The Yeast in the Dough

The teacher said, “The kingdom of the Father is like a woman who took a little yeast, hid it in the dough, and made large loaves of bread.  Whoever has ears ought to listen.” (Logion 94)

Sixth Mystery of the Parables
The Prophets

His disciples said to him, “Twenty-four prophets have spoken in Israel, and they all spoke of you.”  He said to them, “You have ignored the Living One who is with you, and have spoken only of the dead.”  (Logion 52)

Seventh Mystery of the Parables
I Am The Light

The teacher said, “I am the light that is over all things.  I am all:  all came forth from me, and all attained to me.  Split a piece of wood, and I am there.  Pick up a stone, and you will find me there.”  (Logion 75)

Gnostic Vow

A Gnostic`s Prayer

Terminal Prayer:

Come, Holy Wisdom, fill my heart with your holy gift, the gift of fullness. Fill my mind with your wise counsel, the gift of discernment. Fill my ears that I may hear your words in the world and in the lives of others. Fill my soul with the gift of light, that it may shine with Gnosis eternal. Amen

Rosary of the Ascent

Recited in the traditional manner, with the same terminal prayer and vow as the Sophian rosary I was using, with the Ascent  of the Soul in place of the Meditations, and prayers from Poimandres (using the translation from Barnstone and Meyer’s The Gnostic Bible) in place of the patria and gloria.

Having now “tried” it sufficiently, I really like this rosary, and will be using it as a primary meditation for the foreseeable future.

Terminal Prayer

In the name of the Unknown, in Truth, Via Negativa;

In union and redemption;

Peace to all in whom the Unknown reposes.

Gnostic’s Vow

I vow to awaken the boundless forms.

I vow to escape the infinite chain of attainment.

I vow to ask limitless questions.

I vow to attain the Knowledge of self.

Patria

Let me not be removed from Gnosis. Fill me

with strength, and let me bring light. Therefore I

believe and bear witness. I go to life and to light.

Gloria

Accept the pure offering of words from a soul and heart that rise to you,

Unnamable, Ineffable, whom only Silence calls!

Decades

Holy is that which precedes all beginnings.

Holy is the will accomplished by its own powers.

Holy is that which wishes to be known and is known to its own.

Meditations

First Decade

In the first sphere, leave behind the force to grow and decrease.

Second Decade

In the second sphere, leave behind the machinations of evil.

Third Decade

In the third sphere, leave behind the guile of lust.

Fourth Decade

In the sixth sphere, leave behind striving for wealth by malicious means.

Seventh Decade

In the seventh sphere, leave behind the malicious lie.

(Below, once, on each of the “patristic” (large) beads.)

“All rendered powerless.”

“All rendered powerless.”

“All rendered powerless.”

“All rendered powerless.”

“All rendered powerless.”

“All rendered powerless.”

“All rendered powerless.”

Prayed in the traditional manner, counted either with beads, or on the fingers. I sometimes substitute the fifth decade of the Sophianic rosary with a version, or portions, of the Psalter of Sophia.
